Questions
Is the YouTube to text tool really free?
Yes, with no sign-up: videos with captions up to 60 minutes, up to 5 times a day. To keep the tool free for everyone it has a daily limit; if it is reached, it is back the next day. Get Pro (₹299/month or ₹2,990/year) to save each video as a note with a summary, then ask a whole course folder one question — e.g. "Which lecture explained inflation targeting?"
Why does it say a video has no captions?
This free tool only reads captions the video already has — it does not listen to the audio. If a video has no captions, sign up free and upload the audio instead; hearlog will transcribe it.
Can I get it in Hindi, Bangla or another language?
You get the captions in the language they were written in. Paste the text into our free text translator, or sign up to translate it into 50+ languages and keep it as a note.
What do I get if I sign up?
A free account gives you 300 minutes a month to record or upload lectures, meetings and calls, with transcripts, five summary styles, translation into 50+ languages and folders. Pro (₹299/month) adds text from YouTube, photos and PDFs straight into your notes, and one question across all your recordings.
