Reading the Urdu you paste
- Script
- Nastaliq (Perso-Arabic script), written right to left.
- Numbers
- Urdu print uses both Eastern Arabic-style digits (۱, ۲, ۳) and 0–9, and phones mostly 0–9.
- Mixed text
- Spoken Urdu and spoken Hindi share most everyday words; the scripts and formal vocabulary differ.
- Names
- Names come from Arabic and Persian and have several English spellings (Mohammed / Muhammad).
What you get in Arabic
- Saying "you"
- Arabic has anta (to a man), anti (to a woman) and antum (plural); formal Arabic is used in writing. The translation follows the tone of what you paste.
- Sentence order
- Urdu puts the verb at the end and Arabic often starts with the verb, so sentences are rebuilt, not swapped word for word.
- Script
- Arabic script, written right to left, letters joined; short vowels usually not written — copy it into an app that supports right-to-left text.
- Who reads it
- Arabic is spoken across the Middle East and North Africa, including the Gulf where many Indian workers live.
Example
You paste (Urdu):
آپ کے ویزے کی تجدید کے کاغذات تیار ہیں۔ اپنے پاسپورٹ کے ساتھ جمعرات کو دفتر آ جائیں۔
You read (Arabic):
أوراق تجديد تأشيرتك جاهزة. يُرجى الحضور إلى المكتب يوم الخميس ومعك جُواز السفر.

The one that fits the tone of what you paste — a respectful message stays respectful for an Arabic reader.
Can I paste Urdu typed in Roman letters?
