    Reading the Hindi you paste

    Script
Devanagari, written left to right, with a line along the top of each word and no capital letters.
    Numbers
Devanagari digits (१, २, ३) exist, but most printed and typed Hindi uses 0–9.
    Mixed text
Hinglish — English words inside Hindi sentences ("meeting cancel ho gayi"), often typed in Roman script on phones.
    Names
Indian names and places keep their Hindi form; English loan words are often written in Devanagari (मीटिंग for meeting).

    From Hindi to English

    Politeness
Hindi has three ways of saying "you": aap (respectful), tum (familiar) and tu (very close or rude); English has a single "you", so the translation carries politeness with words like "please", "sir" or "ma'am".
    Sentence order
Hindi puts the verb at the end and English puts the verb after the subject, so sentences are rebuilt, not swapped word for word.
    Where it comes from
Hindi is spoken across North and Central India.

    Example

    You paste (Hindi):

    आपका 1,240 रुपये का बिजली बिल 15 नवंबर को देय है। लेट फीस से बचने के लिए ऑनलाइन भुगतान करें।

    You read (English):

Your electricity bill of 1,240 rupees is due on November 15. Pay online to avoid late fees.

Example made with our translator from a sample sentence. Machine translation can make mistakes — check names, dates and amounts.

    Questions

Is the Hindi to English translator free?

    Yes — up to 5,000 characters, 5 times a day, no sign-up.

Are names, dates and amounts kept?

The translator keeps names and figures as they are, but machine translation can slip — check dates and amounts against the original before you send.

Will a polite Hindi message stay polite in English?

It aims to: English has no separate polite "you", so the respect shows in the wording instead. Read it once before you send something important.

Can I paste Hindi typed in Roman letters?

Yes. Hindi typed on a phone in Roman letters, or mixed with English, is translated as a whole into English.
