How it works
- Choose the English voice note or clip — up to 3 minutes
- We write down what was said, then translate it into Urdu — usually in under a minute
- Copy or download both as a TXT file
From English speech
- This pair
- English loan words are common in Urdu and are usually written in Urdu script (ڈاکٹر for doctor), while brand names and email addresses stay in English letters.
- Sentence order
- English puts the verb after the subject and Urdu puts the verb at the end, so sentences are rebuilt, not swapped word for word.
Reading it in Urdu
- Script
- Nastaliq (Perso-Arabic script), written right to left — paste it into an app that supports right-to-left text.
- Numbers
- Urdu print uses both Eastern Arabic-style digits (۱, ۲, ۳) and 0–9, and phones mostly 0–9.
- Saying "you"
- Urdu has aap (respectful), tum (familiar) and tu (very close).
- Names
- In Urdu, names come from Arabic and Persian and have several English spellings (Mohammed / Muhammad).
- Everyday words
- Spoken Urdu and spoken Hindi share most everyday words; the scripts and formal vocabulary differ.
- Who reads it
- Urdu is spoken in Pakistan and across India, especially Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad and Bihar.
Example

Questions
Is translating English audio to Urdu free?
Yes — clips up to 3 minutes and 25 MB, 3 times a day, no sign-up.
Will the Urdu keep the speaker's tone?
It aims to — a respectful message should read as respectful to an Urdu reader. Machine translation can slip, so check names and figures against the recording.
Do I get the English transcript too?
