    From Nepali to English

    Politeness
Nepali has tapai (respectful), timi (familiar) and ta (very close); hajur for the most respect; English has a single "you", so the translation carries politeness with words like "please", "sir" or "ma'am".
    Sentence order
Nepali puts the verb at the end and English puts the verb after the subject, so sentences are rebuilt, not swapped word for word.
    Where it comes from
Nepali is spoken in Nepal, Sikkim and Darjeeling.

    Example

    You paste (Nepali):

    बैंक शाखा शुक्रबार बन्द हुनेछ। तपाईं अझै पनि ATM र मोबाइल एप प्रयोग गर्न सक्नुहुन्छ।

    You read (English):

The bank branch will be closed on Friday. You can still use the ATM and mobile app.

Example made with our translator from a sample sentence. Machine translation can make mistakes — check names, dates and amounts.

    Questions

Is the Nepali to English translator free?

    Yes — up to 5,000 characters, 5 times a day, no sign-up.

Are names, dates and amounts kept?

The translator keeps names and figures as they are, but machine translation can slip — check dates and amounts against the original before you send.

Will a polite Nepali message stay polite in English?

It aims to: English has no separate polite "you", so the respect shows in the wording instead. Read it once before you send something important.

Can I paste Nepali typed in Roman letters?

Yes. Nepali typed on a phone in Roman letters, or mixed with English, is translated as a whole into English.
